Make a Sadaqah with Aide Fisabilillah; it means supporting sustainable projects that bring real change to the lives of the most vulnerable.
For the first time in recent history, two persons with disabilities, Awa Seck and Mamadou Lamine Diouf, are seated in the National Assembly, marking a significant milestone in the political representation of persons with disabilities in Senegal. FRAH, the Front for Solidarity, hailed this advancement as a major step toward a more inclusive and equitable society. According to FRAH, the presence of these MPs is not just a symbol but also an opportunity to bring the concerns of persons with disabilities to the political forefront. The Front for Solidarity emphasized that this representation must go beyond symbolism. These MPs have a crucial role in drafting and adopting laws that address the needs of persons with disabilities. FRAH therefore calls for active support from other parliamentarians to ensure that concrete measures, such as improved accessibility, inclusive employment, and tailored healthcare services, are integrated into public policies. Their presence must act as a catalyst for systemic change in the management of disability rights. FRAH concluded by urging citizens to closely monitor the work of these MPs and engage in the democratic process to support this positive momentum. According to the Front for Solidarity, representation in the National Assembly is an important victory, but it is just the starting point. The ultimate goal remains the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of public and private life. Together, we can build a truly inclusive future.
